Claustrophobic panic attack
Toad The Wet Sprocket is my favorite band, I’m 32 and been waiting my whole life to see them live in concert. I know nose bleed seats aren’t good because they’re far away. But this was my first time seeing a band at an arena. I’m frustrated, angry, sad… the one band I wanted to see live that I’ve never seen…I hope when they tour again they go to an outdoor venue, just anywhere but capital one arena. Wasted so much money and time and probably one of the biggest disappointments of my life. But I couldn’t afford anything better than the 400’s. I made it through 4 songs before I couldn’t take it anymore and had to leave. Not to mention half the floor lights (the tiny ones to help you from falling to your death) were out. Everyone in your row has to stand just so you can get by to the bathroom or outside (hello anxiety). I’m only 5’3 155lbs and felt like I was sitting in a small child’s chair (like under 10 because most 11 year olds are bigger than me). I couldn’t even sit up straight and had to scrunch my shoulders into my ears to fit in that tiny seat and I have a bad left shoulder and right collar bone so it was painfully uncomfortable. I’m glad I at least got to hear my favorite band play 4 songs but I should’ve been able to see the whole show. Unfortunately once a panic attack starts you can’t just end it, you have to let it pass. When I went outside for air I could see I wasn’t the only one having a panic attack. I just couldn’t be in such a tight space with so many people and feel trapped. Plus the lack of guide lights to see your feet and the height made it even more anxiety inducing. I expected to be high up and far from the stage but not in such small cramped seats that I was in physical pain just trying to sit up properly. I couldn’t get myself to go back in no matter how hard I tried.. My favorite band whose music has always been there for me. I’m actually glad my dad was sick and couldn’t come, he has a prosthetic leg and probably would not have been able to get to his seat considering the circumstances. Seeing Toad The Wet Sprocket is on my bucket list.
